Senior Jamorko Pickett recorded a season-high 19 points and a career-high 16 rebounds as Georgetown overcame a dreadful start to beat Coppin State 80-48 on Tuesday in Washington.

Jahvon Blair had 22 points and four 3-pointers and Chudier Bile added 13 points and eight rebounds off the bench for Georgetown (2-2). The Hoyas committed 11 turnovers in the first 13 minutes before a big run helped them improve to 62-0 against teams currently in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

Kobe Thomas and Chereef Knox had 12 points each for the Eagles (0-4), who shot 27.3 percent from the floor, including 8 of 38 (21.1 percent) from beyond the arc. Anthony Tarke, who entered averaging 18.3 points, was limited to eight points while his younger brother, Nendah Tarke, added seven.

Georgetown sleepwalked through the start, trailing by six early while being held to one field goal over a seven-minute stretch.

The Hoyas trailed 18-15 with nine minutes left in the half before Blair, who committed five turnovers before intermission, ignited a 23-5 onslaught to end the first stanza. He drained a pair of 3-pointers in a 90-second span while Bile contributed 10 points during the run, including a 3-pointer to close the half after a steal by Blair.

Bile led the Hoyas with 10 points off the bench in the half while Blair and Pickett scored nine apiece. Knox topped the Eagles with six.

Coppin State, which took a 10-4 lead off a steal and thunderous dunk by Thomas, couldn't take advantage of the Hoyas' early struggles, making just 9 of 35 shots, including 4 of 19 from beyond the arc, in the opening 20 minutes.

Pickett scored seven points in the first 8 1/2 minutes of the second half, including a straightaway 3-pointer that provided Georgetown its first 20-point lead at 52-32.

The Hoyas, who led by as many as 34, shot 54.7 percent from the floor overall, made 10 of 23 from 3-point range and held a 53-29 edge on the backboards to overcome 26 turnovers -- 13 in each half.
