March 04, 2020
Xavier at Providence 6:30 PM ET
Providence is peaking at the right time, victimizing a string of ranked opponents during its late push to advance to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in the last seven seasons. Coming off a huge road win at No. 12 Villanova on Saturday, the Friars take aim at their fifth consecutive victory when they host Xavier on Wednesday in a Big East Conference matchup.
Clemson at Virginia Tech 7:00 PM ET
Clemson has put itself on the NCAA Tournament bubble with a 4-1 stretch that includes victories over two teams ranked in the top 10. The Tigers will try to keep their hot streak going and move over .500 in ACC play when they visit Virginia Tech on Wednesday.
Florida at Georgia 7:00 PM ET
Florida heads to Georgia on Wednesday for its next-to-last game before the SEC Tournament begins, and the Gators know they must be more consistent. Saturday’s loss at Tennessee provided another example of Florida’s up-and-down play as the Gators committed 11 turnovers in trailing by 15 points at halftime, then were down 19 points with 12 minutes left before a late surge fell short in a 63-58 defeat.
Texas A&M at Auburn 7:00 PM ET
No. 15 Auburn saw its SEC regular-season title hopes extinguished over the weekend and looks to build some momentum for the postseason when Texas A&M visits Wednesday night for the home finale. The Tigers dropped into a tie with LSU for second place in the league after falling 73-66 at Kentucky on Saturday after shooting just 36.1 percent from the field and making 9-of-34 from behind the 3-point arc.
Louisiana State at Arkansas 7:00 PM ET
LSU hasn't won back-to-back games since bursting out of the SEC gates 8-0 but has another opportunity to do so when it visits Arkansas on Wednesday. The Tigers are tied for second in the conference with No. 15 Auburn after a 64-50 victory over Texas A&M on Saturday and are on the verge of earning a double-bye in the SEC Tournament, where winning consecutive games is a must in order to succeed.
Southern Methodist at Central Florida 7:00 PM ET
SMU tries to rebound from a crushing defeat when it starts a two-game trip to the Sunshine State with an American Athletic Conference matchup against struggling Central Florida on Wednesday night. The Mustangs led by 24 points with under 14 minutes left against Wichita State on Sunday at home before coughing up the advantage and suffering a 66-62 setback to remain at 19 wins.
Tulsa at Temple 7:00 PM ET
Having won five of its last six games, Tulsa closes the regular season with a two-game road trip, beginning with a matchup against Temple on Wednesday. The Golden Hurricane crushed the Owls in the first meeting this season, posting a 70-44 victory as Jeriah Horne scored 23 points and Brandon Rachal chipped in 19.
Minnesota at Indiana 7:00 PM ET
Indiana looks to end a two-game losing skid when it hosts Minnesota on Wednesday. The Hoosiers dropped games against Purdue (57-49) and No. 22 Illinois (67-66) in the last week to leave their NCAA Tournament hopes hanging in the balance, and they hope to play their way off the bubble by completing the season sweep of the Golden Gophers following a 68-56 win in Minneapolis on Feb. 19.
St. John's at Butler 7:00 PM ET
No. 25 Butler stopped the bleeding with a win over the last-place team in the Big East on Saturday and it will try to pick on another of the league's lesser squads when it hosts St. John's in the home finale at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Wednesday. The Bulldogs dropped three straight and five of seven to deliver a blow to their once-strong NCAA Tournament resume, but they upended DePaul 60-42 to calm the waters.
Georgetown at Creighton 8:00 PM ET
Creighton won't sleep on Georgetown when it comes to town Wednesday for a Big East Conference game. The No. 14 Bluejays weren't prepared for a 3-point barrage by struggling St. John's on Sunday, suffering a 91-71 defeat that left them needing to beat the Hoyas and No. 7 Seton Hall to have a chance at sharing the Big East regular season title.
Texas Christian at Kansas 8:00 PM ET
Udoka Azubuike came up big for No. 1 Kansas in the previous two wins, but when he was limited by an ankle injury, Devon Dotson stepped forward Saturday in a 62-58 win at Kansas State. With Azubuike's status uncertain, Dotson may need another big game when TCU, fresh off knocking off then-No. 2 Baylor, visits Allen Fieldhouse on Wednesday as the Jayhawks try to clinch at least a share of the Big 12 regular-season title.
Villanova at Seton Hall 8:30 PM ET
Seton Hall can clinch the Big East regular-season title outright for a second straight season Wednesday with a win over visiting Villanova. The seventh-ranked Pirates defeated the 12th-ranked Wildcats last month and currently sit two games north of Villanova and Creighton in the Big East standings with two games to play.
Florida State at Notre Dame 9:00 PM ET
Florida State's ACC regular-season title hopes took a hit Saturday when the eighth-ranked Seminoles suffered a last-second, 70-69 loss at Clemson that dropped them to second place in the conference, a half-game behind Louisville, the team they beat one game earlier to take over the top spot. The Seminoles will aim to get back on track in the league race and earn a sweep of Notre Dame when the schools battle Wednesday night on the Irish's homecourt.
Pittsburgh at Georgia Tech 9:00 PM ET
Georgia Tech has decided to drop its appeal to the NCAA and therefore will not be eligible for postseason play, and enters Wednesday’s home matchup against Pittsburgh with two games remaining in its season. The Yellow Jackets are playing some of their best basketball of late, winning four of their past five games after Saturday’s 63-57 home victory over Miami, and their nine ACC victories are the program’s most since 2003-04.
Missouri at Mississippi 9:00 PM ET
Ole Miss looks for a second straight win when it hosts Missouri in an SEC contest on Wednesday night. The Rebels are coming off a victory over Vanderbilt on Saturday that snapped a four-game losing streak, while the Tigers enter this game off a home loss to Mississippi State on Saturday.
Northwestern at Wisconsin 9:00 PM ET
No. 24 Wisconsin looks to extend its longest winning streak of the season when it hosts Northwestern on Wednesday. The Badgers have won six consecutive games, including a 71-69 victory over Minnesota on Sunday, to move into a second-place tie in the Big Ten standings, and they hope to stay in the mix for their first regular-season title since 2015 by beating the Wildcats for the fourth straight time.
Kansas State at Oklahoma State 9:00 PM ET
After tying for the Big 12 regular season championship last year, Kansas State has fallen on hard times in 2019-20, losing nine consecutive games. The Wildcats begin the last week of the regular season with a trip to Oklahoma State on Wednesday before closing out at Iowa State on Saturday.
Dayton at Rhode Island 9:00 PM ET
Third-ranked Dayton decided not to cut down the nets after winning the Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season title - maybe because they were still burning after matching the second-best shooting performance in school history. The Flyers put their 18-game winning streak on the line when they visit Rhode Island on Wednesday and may celebrate with scissors if they complete a perfect A-10 season with a victory over George Washington on Saturday.
Virginia at Miami-Florida 9:00 PM ET
Virginia extended its winning streak to six Saturday as the 22nd-ranked Cavaliers took down then-No. 7 Duke 52-50 at home. Virginia now heads south to Miami on Wednesday to face a Hurricanes team returning home from a disappointing 1-2 road swing.
